Northwood sent a side of mainly reserve team players to Earlsmead for this pre-season game but there were a sprinkling of current senior squad players, with Reece Yorke, Danny McDonnell, James McCluskey and Kyle Matthews the most experienced of them.
Harrow had a similar type of squad with Danny Buckle the main man up front for the home side and it was he that netted the only goal of the game, coming after 34 minutes with a crisp finish.
A Harry Wright effort and a McCluskey free-kick were the closest attempts by the Woods prior to this, but goalkeeper Jamie Jackson looked strong and well-organised, while 16-year-old Garry Malone made a couple of good stops in goal for Northwood.
After the break, Matthews came more into the game, seeing a free-kick comfortably saved while missing one good chance after a fine ball through by McCluskey.
Substitute Ricky Rogers impressed but fired over from a good position with twenty minutes remaining and in the closing stages both Yorke and McCluskey had efforts on goal without hitting the target.
